AutoCAD ® Civil 3D ® civil engineering software uses building information modeling (BIM) to help civil engineering project teams evaluate more what-if scenarios earlier in the design process and get transportation, land development, and environmental projects done faster and more efficiently.

AutoCAD Civil 3D helps civil engineers optimize project performance with geospatial analysis to identify the best project site, storm water analysis for more sustainable designs, quantity takeoff and dynamic earthwork calculations to optimize material usage, and 3D visualizations to better understand project impacts on environment.

New in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010

As always, Autodesk is committed to the expansion of the power of AutoCAD Civil 3D for infrastructure design. In 2010 the new version in several key areas:

• ease of use: Users now have experience of using other Autodesk products since many of them have a common user interface.

• Design and Analysis: Improved functionality of the design is making it possible to automate tasks and to do analysis to optimize the quality of the project.

• Working together: building information modeling (BIM) is an integrated process based on a coordinated and consistent information. AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 includes functionality that will allow engineering teams to collaborate more effectively in project implementation

Application Menu

The new user interface provides better organization and provides a quick access to tools and commands, helping to shorten the time to search for commands in the menus to be more time for actual work.

In the upper left corner of the screen you will find a new menu, which allows easy access to well-organized list of commands like Open, Save, Export, and Publish. You can use it for quick access to recently used documents. This new menu is the same when working with any product of Autodesk.

Band interface

Strip (ribbon) occupies the upper window of the application, replacing the menus and tool bar. After a thorough study of the wishes of consumers, we found that this simple, uniform format allows them to more quickly find the tools they need.

The band organized in a set of functions to represent a certain business process as creating objects, render and others. Each tab contains a series of panels. Panel is a group of commands used to separate part of the work.

As the strip is organized so that it fits your way of working, you can quickly find the appropriate commands for the execution of your tasks without having to look at menus and tool bar.

Can reorganize the bar with “drag & drop” of toolbar or panels. The panels can also be moved outside the bar and the area of application. There are icons for updated commands.

Toolbar for quick access (Quick Access toolbar)

Quick Access toolbar has been improved to add more functionality and compatibility with Microsoft ® Windows applications. “Right-click” menu includes new options that make it easy to remove commands to add separators to be displayed toolbar above or below the bar. In addition to quick access tool bar includes new flyout menu, which gives a list of common commands that can be selected for inclusion. flyout menu gives easy access to additional resources using the Command list in the CUI dialog box. Other options allow you to display the menu bar or the Quick Access toolbar below the toolbar. Tool bar quick access can be set with new options in the Customize User Interface dialog box. You can create multiple versions of toolbar and then added to the workload space.

Modeling the crossroads

In AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 has a new assistant for the modeling of junctions, which removes the complexity of the modeling of typical junctions.

This new option includes tools for 2D placement of common crossing objects, such as curb returns, ushireniya, road edges, and dynamic management of the crossings. There are many improvements in the tracks, profiles and corridors for maintaining the requirements for the design of junctions. You may ask 2D and 3D design criteria. The new functionality allows the creation of dynamic 3D model of the junction, increasing the opportunities for creativity and productivity in the optimized design.

Location of the plots

Generation of plots e always been in focus since the introduction of AutoCAD Civil 3D. In AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 has a faster workflow for deploying land. There are new options for generating the plots according to the requirements for a person, minimum width, min / max depth.

Integrated analysis of rainwater

In AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 includes Hydraflow extensions that provide a closer integration of hudrolozhki analysis. Functionality for analysis of rainwater provides a complete set of tools for hydraulic and hydrological analysis of zemeustroysvtvo, transportation projects, drainage projects. Hydraflow Storm Sewers extensions for AutoCAD Civil 3D enables you to use the drainage system directly from the Civil 3D, or draw your system on-screen editor or spreadsheet. Turn your water catchment areas and calculate the flow using standard methodologies. Then automatically design tubes, inverters, slopes, and inclusions, based on user-defined design parameters. Interactive features to help you modify and optimize your design for drainage systems in real time, helping you to ensure the highest hydraulic efficiency at the lowest possible price.

From the field to start

AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 has extensive capabilities for processing geodetic data, allowing data to be processed directly from field measurements without  translation and conversion. Management of the entire process field is improved with the introduction of “Events.” In the import data.

With the 2010 version of AutoCAD Civil 3D, the user can

1. To create a database of geodetic COGO points, ASCII, “field book” and LandXML data

2. Automatically created from geodetic base lines using predefined controls line types.

3. Editing figures more effectively

Quantitative accounts

New tools for quantitative accounts give the user an easy method for calculating the quantities of direct use of data from models of AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The new functionality includes the ability to import a field value from external sources and to export this field for use in Autodesk ® Quality Takeoff software and AASHTO Trns * port products. Values can be attributed to objects in the drawings, including AutoCAD ® objects and AutoCAD Civil 3D elements. Quantitative information can be extracted for corridor models and “site” objects. There are estimates of the volume of earth works, and point, linear, surface area and volume quantities.

Interaction with Revit ® – based products

The added functionality in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 Revit interaction allows users to import site of the building directly in Revit Architecture AutoCAD Civil 3D. The buildings are located using the location and orientation defined in Revit. There is a special assistant to the import process, which includes the localization of the points of connection to utility networks, the area of roof at the entrance of the building and adding information on capacity.

Interaction with engineers building bridges already a reality, with the ability to export data for the route of the road and terrain that can be used in modeling of connecting bridge in Autodesk Revit Structure 2010.

System Requirements

  • Microsoft ® Windows Vista ® Ultimate / Business / Enterprise or Microsoft ® Windows ® XP SP2 or SP3. Microsoft Windows XP 64 and Windows Vista 64 are supported in 32-bit compatibility mode only.
  • Intel ® Pentium ® 4 or AMD Athlon ® dual-core processor, 3 GHz or higher with SSE2 technology
  • 4 GB RAM – suggested / 3GB switch (on 32 bit operating systems)
  • 7 GB disk space, 2 GB free after installation
